Exclusive Preview: October 21’s ‘Batman: Arkham Knight – Genesis’

Batman: Arkham Knight had a clever play on a classic Batman story, and it’s one DC has been exploring in Batman: Arkham Knight – Genesis. That seems, however, to be coming to a head as the Arkham Knight visits his namesake, and perhaps finds some darker truths about himself.

For those unfamiliar, A Death in the Family was a shock to comics fans and DC Comics alike. The fate of Robin was put up to a vote, and the fans ruled that Robin had to die. So die he did, brutally and quickly, at the hands of the Joker. Or so everyone thought.

Turned out, in the comics, that Jason Todd was very much alive, if not terribly well. Batman: Arkham Knight turned that on its head; Todd didn’t die, he was tortured and broken, a symbol of Batman’s greatest failure as a crimefighter returned to haunt him.

And now, in the wake of that breakdown, Jason’s got to put himself back together. Of course, Arkham Asylum probably isn’t the place to do that…

To see how Jason’s dive into the worst part of the asylum, and his psyche, turns out, pick up Batman: Arkham Knight – Genesis #3, on stands this Wednesday and available digitally.
