Between the death of comedy legend Don Rickles and increasing hostilities in Syria, this has been a tough week. Thankfully, countless homages to the former and efforts to assuage the latter are ongoing. That, and there’s Chris Pratt — star of the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Jurassic World 2 films — whose Instagram account is a constant source of distracting joy. Such is the case with his #WhatsMySnack video series, through which the actor often lets his followers know what kinds of horrible, tasteless things he has to eat while we’re stuffing our faces with pizza and more pizza.
Everything changed on Friday, however, when Pratt’s wife, actress Anna Faris documented his consumption of the last of “7 cranberry, currant, butter, jam, clotted cream scones.” For not only was Pratt eating the last of these delicious-sound scones, but he was also crooning to it with an exaggerated rendition of The Beatles’ classic tune, “Oh! Darling.” The real-life Andy Dwyer was so enthusiastic about the cheat meal that he even concocted a movie pitch around it:
Set on the River Thames in post World Two England, Chris Pratt plays lonely CIA agent Drake McGuiness, a man with a dangerous secret and a crippling addiction to dessert.
To be honest, this is all really silly in light of the aforementioned horrors of the past week. Then again, seeing as how Pratt’s video inspired me to dig into a pint of ice cream (and I’m already feeling better as a result), it’s not all that bad.
