Here Are The National Retailers That Respect Their Employees Enough To Stay Closed On Thanksgiving

Yesterday we brought you the news that Kmart will raise its middle finger to its employees in historic fashion by opening its doors at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving. The retailer will then keep its doors open through Black Friday, setting a new holiday record by staying open for 42 consecutive hours.

Today let’s focus on the companies who are rewarding their workers by shutting their doors on Turkey Day. Perhaps no retailer embodies this respect for its employees more better than Costco. The company released the following concise statement about why its warehouses will remain closed on Thanksgiving:

Our employees work especially hard during the holiday season and we simply believe that they deserve the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving with their families. Nothing more complicated than that.
