Courtney Stodden is pregnant, y’all! The child bride turned reality star confirmed the news to media outlets on Monday that she and husband Doug Hutchinson are expecting, just days before the couple’s five year wedding anniversary. (They were married on May 20, 2011, when Stodden was just 16 years old and Hutchison was 50.)
Stodden revealed to Us Weekly that it’s a bittersweet time for her right now, and that she’s dealing with a lot of stress and emotions, hinting that someone was threatening to expose her pregnancy: “Doug and I weren’t planning on going public with this so soon. I’m only four weeks along in my pregnancy. But some things are out of your control.” Likewise, Stodden tells Entertainment Tonight, “I’m going through a lot at the moment. This wasn’t a planned pregnancy. But life happens.”
That it does. It’s with any hope that bringing a child into the world might ground Stodden and Hutchinson, and that she’ll stop doing things like setting her hair on fire attempting to summon dead pop stars. Time will tell.
Stodden also “announced” the news on Instagram with this cryptic photo captioned, “The best way to predict the future is to create it.”
