Look, I have no idea which executives were around for the latest Call of Duty zombie mode discussion, but whoever they were, I’d like to personally tongue kiss each and every one of them. Available first (of course) via Xbox Live on May 3rd, the upcoming downloadable Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation pack features a zombie mode unlike any DLC before -this one inspired (and even featuring) the godfather of undead horror himself, George A. Romero. But where things get really interesting is exploring the playable cast of this newest nightmare; a motley crew of celebrities that seems so odd that it actually might work. Keep in mind, you’re not playing as any of their characters from the movies, we’re talking you actually play as the celebrity actors. The cast includes Danny Trejo (Machete), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy), Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead), who I’d like to mention will always remain the amazing Jared Svenning, from Mallrats, in my heart.

Whether or not the actual download will deliver is still in question, but as far as hooking your attention with a killer trailer, it’s mission accomplished. Keep your eyes peeled at the 1:16 mark for the Romero appearance. This sh-t is just too weird not to get excited over.
