Did Steve Jobs Inadvertently Outline Apple’s Future In This Old Interview?

Is Apple a model company that marries style with sense to produce truly game-changing products, or are they a brand that has grown fat living off of its past innovations and the affection of a cult of people that have lifted the company and its products to an undeserved place in our culture?

How you answer that question may color your reaction to this old clip of Apple’s late co-founder Steve Jobs talking about the behind-the-scenes battle between marketing people and product people. But regardless, it’s hard to not see the irony when Jobs talks about how, for a company like Pepsico that he categorized as being run by sales and marketing people, “a new product was like a new sized bottle.” When was the last time that Apple had a world altering new product innovation with the iPhone besides altering its size?
