Because New York City is nothing if not chock full of pizza and rats, some YouTube pranksters wanted to conduct their own test. They decided to see if random strangers would believe that lightning could strike twice by outfitting a mechanical, remote control rat with a slice of pizza, following the video that went viral back in September of an industrious rat dragging around a full slice of New York pizza.
While most people were merely amused by the stunt — which I like to call “Pizza Rat Part Deux” — more than a few were legitimately terrified. I guess you can chalk that up to even the most seasoned New Yorkers being distrustful of any creepy crawlies that run across their feet, whether adorably carrying a slice of pizza or not.
