Social Media Slams Melania Trump With #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes Following Plagiarized Speech

While we all knew the Republican National Convention would produce several interesting headlines, no one could’ve predicted “Melania Trump Plagiarizes Michelle Obama Speech” being one of them. And yet, here we are!

As previously reported, the potential future first lady was caught shamelessly lifting, word-for-word, a good-sized portion of Michelle Obama’s 2008 Democratic National Convention speech and mixing it with her own RNC address Monday night.

Of course, a ‘yuge flub such as Melania’s copy-and-paste action didn’t go unnoticed by social media, specifically Jesse Williams, who quickly attributed Sojourner Truth’s “Ain’t I a woman” to the Slovenian beauty queen while using the hashtag #FamousMelaniaTrumpQuotes. And it was on from there as everyone else started sourcing Melania Trump as the brains behind other famous quotes and speeches. Everything from song lyrics to classic one-liners to Abraham Lincoln’s Gettysburg address to Maya Angelou’s “Phenomenal Woman” to Neil Armstrong’s “One Small Step for Man” all came from the mind and pen of Melania Trump, guys. Easiest history lesson ever? Easiest history lesson ever.

This probably won’t do much to derail Trump’s campaign. Like Chris Christie said, it’s not really plagiarism when Melania only swiped 7 percent of Michelle Obama’s speech. I’m pretty sure he’s right.
