‘Five Nights At Freddy’s 3’ Is Not Cancelled And Its Creator Is A Giant Troll

Scott Cawthon, creator of the hugely popular game Five Nights At Freddy’s, scared gamers when he announced last week on Steam that Five Nights At Freddy’s 3 had been cancelled. He claimed that he had been hacked, and the game had been released early on a third-party site. As it turns out, Cawthon was totally kidding and has released a new impossibly difficult side-scroller, starring Freddy himself.

In the original post, Cawthon included a link that supposedly led to the leaked game. The people that clicked through and downloaded the game discovered, however, that it was not Five Nights At Freddy’s 3 but a side-scroller game bearing a striking resemblance to Cawthon’s game There Is No Pause Button!, except the avatar is wearing a Freddy head. Here are screenshots from the two games, side-by-side:

Cawthon updated his original post for fans who didn’t get his joke and thought the game was still cancelled. He assured them that Five Nights At Freddy’s 3 is “moving full speed ahead” and poked fun at their collective freak-out.

Now everyone take a chill pill and enjoy the nice game I made for you! ;)

Currently, the game has a user rating of 4.5 out of 5 on Game Jolt, where it is available for download.
