An Oxford, Florida teenager and his dad were heading home from a trip to the local Walmart last week when they captured a tractor trailer full of watermelons that very unfortunately happened to be stalled across train tracks — as a CSX train came barreling through, jackknifing the truck and hurling smashed watermelons all over the road and tracks. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say it was the greatest trick Gallagher ever pulled.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, the 15-year-old boy, Austin Broderick, told them: “I was kind of worried about the driver, but I was kind of excited because I’d never seen something like this happen.”
That’s kind of the understatement of the year. Between the kid and his dad, I don’t know who was giddier. From the dad asking, “Are you videoing this? Are you VIDEOING this??” to the two of them excitedly remarking about the quality of the smashed watermelons, to the teen’s David After Dentist-esque exclamation of “Is this real?” — it’s hard to top a train crashing into a truck filled with watermelons, but these two somehow managed to nail it.
