Glow-In-The-Dark Sheep Are Now A Thing That Exists

I, like most people not from Uruguay, don’t know all that much about Uruguay, which is something I really ought to remedy because there’s apparently some weird s–t going on down there. Like, for instance, the creation of glow-in-the-dark sheep.

Yup, scientists at the Animal Reproduction Institute in Uruguay have crossed sheep and jellyfish DNA, creating sheep that glow greenish-yellow when exposed to UV light. Hit the jump for a video featuring some images of the glowing sheep…

I apologize in advance for the Local Action News! banter at the end of this video.

Of course sheep aren’t the only glowing animals scientists have engineered. They’ve done tons of other animals including kittens. Of course scientists claim they’re creating these glowing animals for very serious scientific reasons, but come on — who really needs a reason to create glowing sheep and kittens? Stop over thinking scientists.
