Green Lantern Adds New Trailer, Posters, And $9 Million

We’ve got a bunch of new Green Lantern updates here so let’s get right to it.  After the jump is the new, extended trailer, which is the previous 90 second trailer with most of the scenes expanded slightly; we get a better look at Parallax and not much more.  Stop the internet.  It’s just too much.  Anyway, my lack of excitement over that aside, there are also two new character posters to go with the Hal Jordan poster and that Tomar-Re poster from last week.  The first is Mark Strong as Sinestro and the second is Kilowog, who will be awesomely voiced by Michael Clarke Duncan.
These new posters and footage were released shortly after the somewhat worrying news that Warner Brothers just added another $9 million to the Green Lantern budget and have hired more VFX companies to improve some of the special effects right up to the release of the film.  Well, that’s reassuring.

“There is no problem on GREEN LANTERN,” or so says WB’s VP of digital production, animation and visual effects Chris de Faria.  “We try to add things to make the movie better until the 11th hour. That doesn’t mean we’re risking the movie up to the 11th hour.” [GordonAndTheWhale]

Well, if they’re going to be tweaking the effects till the last minute, at least they’ll hopefully do something about Hal’s creepy feet and the derp mask.
