Much of what Nintendo does is inexplicable to gamers. For example, Nintendo appears to be sitting on every single major franchise it owns, bar Smash Bros., for the Wii U, but you want a new Mario Party? No problem! Here’s the 10th entry in a franchise nobody seems to actually like, yet everybody seems to buy! So, of course, Honest Trailers goes to town on it.
That said, they’re not wrong. Who buys these games? Somebody has to be. No, seriously, look at the sales figures. Despite 17 years of complaining about the game’s random number generator and gamers bemoaning the fact Nintendo puts out one of these instead of a franchise we actually want on a consistent basis, somebody is buying Mario Party. They must be found, and stopped.
Well, either that or Nintendo needs to fix that number generator. Of the two, actually finding people refusing to buy the game the much more likely scenario.
