How’s Richard Donner Feel About New Superman Movies?

As you might remember, Richard Donner made the original Superman movie that wasn’t a cheesefest from the ’40s, and featured both the classic score of John Williams and the overacting of Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor. Recently, he was asked how he felt about Zack Snyder taking on the franchise, and what he thought of Superman Returns.

Turns out, unsurprisingly, that he likes ’em both. Donner thinks Returns was smart to focus on the characters, and that Snyder will make an entirely different kind of Superman movie. Also, apparently, despite being heavily involved in the franchise at one point, Warner Brothers hasn’t even sent him the script, so he literally knows as much as we do.

Oh, also, The Goonies, 25th anniversary, out tomorrow on Blu-Ray. You’re welcome.
