Jay-Z’s Now A Licensed NBA Agent, May Still Own The Nets

Jay-Z can now officially step into the business of representing athletes. Almost.

According to ESPN, Roc Nation Sports spokesman Ron Berkowitz confirms that as of this week Jay-Z and Juan Perez, the company president, are both now certified by the NBA to act as agents. Kevin Durant is rumored to be the first pro basketball player who will sign with Jay-Z and co.

The only remaining wrinkle for Jay is that he still hasn’t sold his share of the Nets, according to a source close to the situation. His one percent share has been on the auction block since April but no deal has taken place yet to transfer ownership. Until that happens, Jigga has to remain in the sidelines since league rules prohibit owners acting as agents for athletes.
