Jennifer Lawrence Says She’ll Never Join Twitter Because The Internet Has ‘Scorned’ Her

Jennifer Lawrence is currently across the pond promoting The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, which opens next weekend. In addition to asking Lawrence about that super creepy Jennifer Lawrence cake, BBC’s Radio 1 host Nick Grimshaw read some questions from young fans, one of whom asked Jennifer Lawrence why she doesn’t have Twitter. Lawrence stated that she’ll never get Twitter, citing that the idea was “unthinkable” to her since she’s not good with technology and can’t even keep up with emails. Via EOnline:

“I don’t really understand what it is,” she went on. “It’s like this weird enigma that people talk about. It’s fine, I respect that, but no, I’ll never get a Twitter. If you ever see a Facebook, Instagram or Twitter that says it’s me, it most certainly is not.”

“I had that one locked and loaded,” she said with a laugh. “I really like laser focused [on that answer]…it’s because the internet has scorned me so much that I feel like it’s that girl in high school that I’m like, ‘Oh you want to talk about her? Yeah I’ll do that!’ Take my hoops off, I’m ready to go.”

While I do think it’s pretty amusing that Jennifer Lawrence’s understanding of Twitter puts her on the level of, say, your average baby boomer, I don’t ever, ever want Jennifer to have to take her hoops off because of anything we say about her. Internet commenters on the other hand, I can’t vouch for them. She might also want to unstrap her heels and remove her hair extensions just to be on the safe side.
