Somehow These Campers Don’t Reach For The Scotch While Filming Lions Licking Water Off Their Tent

This video was taken in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park wildlife preserve in the Kalahari Desert region of Botswana and South Africa, and shared to the Kgalagadi Sightings Facebook page. In it, a couple of campers get up close and personal with some lions that have come to lick the moisture off of the surface of their tent. Very much in the same way that a house cat will lick condensation off of a window or a mirror, or like how my cat licked the ice pack I had on my knee last night.

Unlike your garden variety house cat, however, these lions would have likely wreaked unholy terror on the tasty contents within the tent had they realized what was in there. Hence the thing about not reaching for that bottle of scotch… Because if you have to go by way of lion, you might as well enjoy some scotch on the way out.

Thankfully, it appears that our intrepid heroes lived to tell the tale this time. Might we suggest a Holiday Inn for their future travels?
