‘Medal Of Honor: Warfighter’ To Charge Extra To Let You Kill Your Friends Where Osama Bin Laden Was Killed

Surprise, surprise, Medal of Honor: Warfighter has managed to wander into icky moral territory yet again.

This of course is the game that plastered its website with links to places where you could buy real versions of the rifles featured in the game, and offered an official, “Medal of Honor” branded tomahawk. Links to weapon sellers can still be found on the Medal of Honor website, but they’re no longer being pushed as brazenly after people rightfully questioned EA getting into the arms dealing business in the name of “realism”.

Well, here’s the latestZero Dark Thirty, the controversial Kathryn Bigelow film about the search for and killing of Osama Bin Laden, is coming out in December. EA is doing a cross-promotion with the film, where for 10 bucks, you can buy a map pack featuring two locations from the movie. So in other words, you can pay to kill your friends in places around where Osama Bin Laden was eventually found and killed. Also, 10 bucks for two maps? Now that’s outrageous.

Is doing EA doing something wrong here? Eh, I dunno — they are donating some of the profits from this map pack to charity. All I know is I’m at the point where I’d probably feel bad about myself if I bought Medal of Honor: Warfighter. Thankfully EA is making sure I never have to face that moral dilemma by making Warfighter as boring and pointless looking as possible.
