Marvel is well-known for planning far, far ahead with their movie universe. Perhaps they’ve taken it a little too far for this April Fools’ Day joke. Behold! Phase Nine — AKA Phase Canine — of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, featuring the villainous Lokitty! And starring the various dogs of Marvel’s editorial staff as the Avengers!
I have to admit, I’m particularly enamored of how they recast Hawkeye:
Hey, they barely use him in the movies, the least they can do is make Hawkeye adorable.
That said, this might be truer than Marvel cares to admit. By the time they get to Phase Nine, they might be so short of ideas they really do resort to forming the Pet Avengers. If so, they’d better hire the guy who got a cat into a Loki outfit; if he can do that, he can wrangle any animal.
