Hope you’re ready for some hot economic action. Timothy Taylor is an economist (oh yeah) and managing editor of the Journal of Economic Perspectives (uh-huh) who has found a very specific kind of Internet fame (give it to me) by starring in a clip on XVideos (…and I’m done). It’s not quite what it sounds like, though: the video in question, entitled “Hardcore Economics,” is of Taylor discussing the theory of division of labor.
He does not get naked (unfortunately).
The Daily Dot explains this isn’t the first time the author of In Defense of Outsourcing has appeared alongside the likes of Chesty McBust and Pock Cenis (though are real porn stars, right?). Back in 2011, “a still from the video showed up on an r/WTF thread as one of a list of suggested videos on XVideos.”
They also reached out to Taylor about this sort-of Rickroll, but with penises.
Yet when we reached out to Taylor to ask if he had any thoughts about his XXX sideline career (or if he was even aware of it in the first place), he had this to say:
“Didn’t know, and so no useful comments. But in some sense, I’m not much surprised. After all, the web is a big place, porn is a substantial chunk of it, and digital content is fairly easy to move.”
Such a shame. He has the perfect porn name: the Tool Man.
