The above video, featuring a “model” eating her designer handbag in front of horrified NYC subway riders, is actually a clever ruse put on by the International Culinary Center.
The pastry chef instructors at the institute — where handbag-inspired works are part of the curriculum — put their talent to test by baking a purse-like cake and sending the model to devour it in front of unsuspecting onlookers. Judging by their reactions (and the handbag’s apparent durability), I’d say the instructors did a pretty great job.
