Paul Dini Is Working On A Mature Readers Comic Set In The Batman Universe

Well here’s an interesting one — 100 Bullets artist Eduardo Risso recently let slip at a Brazilian comic convention that he and Paul Dini (producer of the classic Batman The Animated Series) are working on a Vertigo title set in the Batman Universe.

Yes please. Most Bat-Universe comics already straddle that PG-13 line pretty precariously — who doesn’t want to see the scummiest town in comicdom take the jump into full R-rated territory? Also, come on, you know Paul Dini has a few twisted ideas he needs to vent after spending much of his career working on kids’ shows.

So far there’s no word on which character will star in the series (don’t get your hopes up for Batman himself). If I had to guess, I’d say one of Gotham’s female residents since Dini has a borderline unhealthy obsession with the ladies of the Bat-Universe. Perhaps a Mature Readers comic about The Phantasm? That’s probably too much to hope for, isn’t it? Sigh.
