Stephen Colbert Drops In On Peter Jackson’s ‘Hobbit’ Live Q&A To Nerd Out About Elves

Last week, people who had a code from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey Blu-ray discs could watch and participate in a Peter Jackson Q&A and watch some behind the scenes Desolation of Smaug stuff. We were going to watch it, but our code turned out to be LEAN CUISINE® Delicious Rewards™ points. As a last ditch effort, we threw Kool-Aid points at our screens, but they did nothing. We then shouted our questions at a sheep — New Zealand’s official mascot [citation needed] — but we’re pretty sure he didn’t relay the message (ewe bastard).

Luckily, a highlight clip from the Hobbit Q&A is now online. Peter Jackson says, “Warner Bros have kindly let me post a six-minute excerpt of the Live Event we did to preview The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, to give anyone who missed it a sense of what it was like.”

Check it out below to see the questions posed by special guests Stephen Colbert and Billy Boyd (Pippin from LOTR). And, since it was released on April Fool’s Day, they even included a prank. Jackson tosses aside a fake Star Wars VIII script at 4:51.

Peter Jackson involved in Star Wars? OH YEAH!
