Hey, it’s almost all ones in today’s arbitrary date! It fulfills an apocalyptic prophecy that today’s publishing schedule is a little light. But there’s still some good stuff.
- “Animal Man” gets a fourth printing, which is good news since it’s one of the best books DC has put out. But catching our attention is that Steve Ditko omnibus out today from DC.
- Marvel is premiering “Scarlet Spider” #1. Apparently he comes from Spider Island and fights corruption in…Houston. Well, at least he’s not a cowboy themed Spidey. Apparently this is part of a push to try and redeem the Clone Saga, since there’s also a hardcover (!) Ben Reilly collection coming out. Volume 3, in fact! Maybe that attempt to get anybody to care about Heroes Reborn a few years back made money?
- Image, meanwhile, takes a break from pimping “The Walking Dead” to see if you’ll buy a Witchblade reprint for ten bucks.
- Dark Horse launches “Dark Matter”, which is basically “Terminator” on a spaceship, but it looks fun. We’ll be giving the first issue a shot.
- And finally, IDW, your ’80s nostalgia comic book house, is launching “Transformers: More Than Meets The Eye”, which is a comic featuring the G1 figures of your misspent childhood.
