After Script Leak, Has Quentin Tarantino Moved On To A Prison Film?

As we reported earlier, Quentin Tarantino has shelved his upcoming western The Hateful Eight because the script was leaked by one of the six people he had sent it to. In his statement given to Variety Tarantino claimed he had “ten more where that came from” and The Wrap might know what one of those ten is: it seems Quentin Tarantino has been considering a prison film, and has been lately obsessed with the Robert Blake murder trial.

If you don’t already know the story, Robert Blake is an 80 year-old actor best known for In Cold Blood and his Emmy-award winning role in Baretta. In 2002 Blake was arrested for the murder of his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley, and was acquitted of all charges in 2005 (though a civil suit for wrongful death was brought against him that year by his children, which they would win.) Quentin Tarantino’s interest in Blake is documented, as he presented “The Films of William Blake” at Cinefamily in Los Angeles this past summer.

Who knows if this is what Tarantino will be doing next, but it would certainly make for an interesting film and could signal Bruce Dern’s continued involvement (unless, of course, he was the one who leaked the script).
