A 28-year-old California woman who claims a female teacher brainwashed, threatened, and sexually abused her for years beginning in middle school recently used the power of the Internet to expose the abuse, leading to the educator’s resignation.

Armed with the courage to finally report the abuse after finding out her former teacher was employed as an administrator in a nearby school district, Jamie Carrillo was disappointed to discover that the statute of limitations had expired. But that didn’t mean she couldn’t expose the abuse to prevent it from happening to other students. So she fired up her camera and gave the educator a call.

Here’s a video of the entire conversation. Below, I have transcribed the most damning exchanges.

JAMIE: “So what happens when a student comes in and says that they’re having a sexual relationship with a teacher?”

TEACHER: “I would involve law enforcement.”

JAMIE: “So how is that any different from what you did (years ago)?”

TEACHER: “It’s not.”

JAMIE: “Do you realize that you brainwashed me, and you manipulated me, and that what you did was wrong?”

TEACHER: “Yes. And I regret it.”

JAMIE (raising voice): “You should be so ashamed and so disgusted with yourself.”

TEACHER: “I am. I am.”

Immediately after uploading the video to YouTube, Jamie sent the link to her former teacher. Andrea Cardosa resigned as vice principal at Alhambra High School the very same day.

Police have launched an investigation, though the statute of limitations may very well stand in the way of true justice being served. But the educator is no longer working with kids, which was the ultimate motivation for Jamie, who now has children of her own.

“The reason why I wanted to do this was to expose her for what she really was and to protect other kids, because she shouldn’t be around anyone’s kids,” Jamie told reporters Monday. “It took a lot for me to come forward, but I kept thinking about my own kids, and how I wouldn’t want anything to happen to them.”
