If you want to resemble someone famous, whether by looking like them or hoping to become the next them, you could do a lot worse than Kim Kardashian. I guess? I mean, she’s certainly popular and worth a lot of money, and she was in one episode of 30 Rock, so no wonder Shahira Barry was inspired by Kim to quit her job as teaching, move to Los Angeles, and become a model and “bootyful” body double. That’s the story that’s floating around the Internet, at least.
The 24-year-old [from Galway, Ireland] originally trained as a primary school teacher, but decided that her heart is in entertainment…She told Today FM that after moving to L.A, she got a call saying that she was “the perfect look as someone’s stand in…They didn’t tell me who it was but they asked me if I was interested in the job.” (Via)
It was Kim. For Barry, who appeared in the “Uptown Funk” music video, as well as a recent episode of True Detective, being Kim K’s body double mostly means helping with blocking and standing in place for promos. She’d like you to know that’s not her sole job, though.
