This Guy Took His Imaginary Girlfriend To ‘Star Wars’ And Snapchatted The Entire Date

Some people refuse to see a movie alone. It’s embarrassing, they’ll say, or not as much fun. It’s one thing to scoff at Fifty Shades of Grey when you’re surrounded by friends — it’s another when there’s a couple on one side, and a middle-aged aunt in a cat sweatshirt on the other. Hey, maybe you guys will hit it off?

I personally love going to the theater by my lonesome. No one but me (and now the internet) needs to know I paid to watch Jupiter Ascending. But I can understand wanting to take a pal to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Imgur user “nemoe” didn’t have anyone to attend Episode VII with, so he brought along his imaginary girlfriend — who’s a Snapchat stick figure. And then it turned into a whole thing. Before the screening, they went to Wendy’s, and she ran into her friends who’d rather watch Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip, and the whole thing’s super weird, but I’m impressed by the guy’s commitment to the bit. And by impressed, I mean, worried. Have a look.

Imagine being behind this guy while he’s taking pictures of nothing. I wonder if her stick figure dad has any theories?
