While the phrase “Don’t Mess With Texas” might actually be just an anti-litter slogan, it also has to be noted that “Don’t Mess With Texas Firefighters, Especially If You’re Trying To Rob A Gas Station” doesn’t exactly fit very well on a t-shirt. However, this video of a Midland, Texas firefighter taking down a scrawny punk faster than the clerk can say, “Son, you got a panty on your head,” says it better than any t-shirt any old day.
The man doing the down-taking is Daniel Gasky, a Mansfield, Texas firefighter and U.S. Marine. It only takes seconds for Gasky to figure out what’s happening and throw the suspect to the ground.
“I have the element of surprise at this moment while he’s talking to her,” Gasky told a local news channel, “so I jumped on his back and went for the control of the knife, grabbed his arm and flipped him over to maintain control of the weapon and get him on the ground.” He would then go on to kick the weapon out of the way and subdue the man until police showed up.
The suspect, Dylan John Bearden, has been charged with aggravated robbery.
