Rude Texas Roadhouse Customers Shamed The Mother Of A Loud Baby With An Even Ruder Note

An Idaho family was trying to enjoy their meal at a Texas Roadhouse last Friday with their boisterous 10-month-old son when a couple of very rude diners put a damper on the family’s evening out. Katie Leach says that her son Drew was not fussy or screaming, but making occasional outbursts because he was “excited to be around all the commotion.”

Unfortunately, the two 50- to 60-something women seated behind them did not share or appreciate her son’s enthusiasm, and walked over to the Leachs’ table, slamming down a note that read: “Thank you for ruining our dinner with your screaming kid. Sincerely, the table behind you.”

“He will yell when I tell him no, when he’s super excited and happy or just for no reason at all,” Leach wrote on a Facebook post to KTVB-TV. “I’m doing my best to teach him ‘indoor voice’ and to not yell back at me when telling him no, etc. But he is only 10 (almost 11 months) and LEARNING.”

“He had been screaming off and on just with everybody as they were singing ‘Happy Birthday.’ And when one of the waitresses would come up, he’d scream to tell them hi,” said Leach.

Okay, on one hand I can see how a loud child might be distracting. But this isn’t a Michelin-starred restaurant, for Christ’s sake, it’s Texas Roadhouse. This is literally the place where guests are encouraged to throw peanut shells on the floor. If you’re looking for a quiet and peaceful meal, this ain’t it.

To make matters worse, these party-pooping ladies didn’t even leave the note on their way out, but mid-meal. I mean if you’re going to be a dick, at the very least this sort of thing should be a “drop-the-mic” situation. Leach alerted management who told the old windbags to quietly finish their meals and GTFO, while they compensated her meal and told her that her family is welcome back anytime, so at least the story had a happy ending.
