A Twitter Rally To Thank Donald Trump Predictably Goes Horribly Wrong

It’s been less than a week since Donald Trump bulldozed his way into the Oval Office, and things are looking pretty great, or pretty grim, depending who you ask. So far the 45th President of the United States has managed to accomplish reviving the Dakota Access and Keystone XL pipelines, blocking the EPA from releasing information to the public and cutting off Twitter access from the National Parks Service (which resulted in near immediate rebellion), and using his official White House mouthpiece to lie about the crowd size at his inauguration.

In other words, it’s been a pretty busy five days!

As such, Trump’s most dedicated supporters took to Twitter Tuesday evening to praise the president with the hashtag #ThankYouTrump, because it’s about damn time someone tells him what a great job he’s doing. Unfortunately for the unpopular president, as things tend to go in these situations, the hashtag quickly got hijacked by his opponents who used it to ridicule and belittle him, and remind everyone of what a frightening, dystopian society the orange-faced man is leading us all into. (As if we needed another reminder!)

Here is just a sampling of some of the scathing responses so far:
