Stop What You’re Doing And Watch Part One Of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ Super Bowl Spot

Sony Pictures released a tease of The Amazing Spider-Man 2’s Super Bowl spot that will air on Sunday during the game. Everything in it is what you’d expect: Spider-Man complaining, over 200 villains, DRUM BRAAAAAHMS, and wide shots of Spider-Man web-slinging against a beautiful sunny blue sky (identical to the original trilogy).

It’s still uncertain as to whether it will be better than the first one, but it shouldn’t be too hard to accomplish that considering The Amazing Spider-Man was awful. It’s like they took the first draft of the original movie, tore out some pages, poured coffee on it, rewrote it was magic markers, and then filmed it. That movie had only one underdeveloped and cliché movie villain, this one has (*looks at poster, counts on fingers, pours chemicals into beakers, drinks glass full of raw eggs, shadow boxes in basement, remembers what he was doing, starts counting*) 4, and that is just a guess based on the poster, there’s probably more.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens on May 2nd, The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Campbell Scott, Embeth Davidtz, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Sally Field and B.J. Novak. Directed by Marc Webb.
