The idea that Mortal Kombat should cross over with slasher movies has been around forever. But it took until 2011 for the franchise to follow through, when Freddy Krueger finally got a stab at the Kombatants in the Mortal Kombat reboot. And where Freddy goes, it’s really only a matter of time before Jason makes an appearance.
Sadly, we don’t have much on this beyond the teaser above, the fact that Jason is DLC, and the art we created in this composition notebook from eighth grade where Jason totally beheads Shao Kahn in one shot. But if their Freddy design is anything to go by, it’ll likely reflect what the character’s like in the movies. So expect a big, slow brawler who can take a lot of damage before he temporarily falls over.
Now, Netherrealm… when can we expect Freddy to make a return appearance?
