Jared Meusers drawings remind me of the “The Far Side” and I honestly can’t imagine there could be many higher compliments for a cartoonist than that. His work is dark, playful and frequently centered around biology gags. But where “The Far Side” tended to stick to organisms that exist in the real world, Meusers paintings have more fantastical leanings. Paper dolls cut themselves free from their chains and dragons strap on flamethrowers. Basically anything goes and it is a fun journey that I’m happy to be taken on.
