Katniss is meeting her camera crew and shooting hovercrafts from the sky in new footage from The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part One.
In the first clip, Katniss is meeting Cressida (Natalie Dormer), the rebellion’s propaganda director, and her camera crew including Messalla (Evan Ross), Castor (Wes Chatham), and Pollux (Elden Henson). Knowing the book, I am guessing they are leaving in a transport to film Katniss in action, fighting the Capitol with her bow and arrow.
This clip is the series’ first introduction to Avoxes. An Avox is a person whom the Capitol punished by cutting out their tongue. Usually, they are kept on as servants in the Capitol and are only valued because they cannot talk. Pollux, one of Cressida’s crew, is introduced as being an Avox.
The new TV spot, titled ‘Battle’, shows President Coin (Julianne Moore) giving words of encouragement to Katniss, saying, “Strength, courage, we find it in times like these.” Meanwhile, President Snow (Donald Sutherland) is making threats to harm anyone who makes “friends with Katniss Everdeen,” and Katniss strikes back with a message for President Snow. From there, all hell breaks loose with Peacekeepers firing shots, attacks on the rebels, and flooding waters rushing in.
If it wasn’t clear already from the previous trailers, The Hunger Games and Catching Fire were just the prelude, but Mockingjay Part One is full-out war.
