The New ‘Hobbit’ Trailer Sure Looks Familiar

By the time part one of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey trilogy is released in December, I feel like I’ll have gone through all five stages of the Kübler-Ross model in some order. At first, I was happy that my favorite Lord of the Rings book was being adapted into a movie (again), but recently, I’ve experienced Anger (“How the f*ck can a 300-page book be turned into three movies?”), Depression (“It’s because MGM wants more money, and the idea of making a film to create something artistic is dead”), and Acceptance (“Oh well, glad I learned to stop believing that lie now”). You’re up next, Denial and Bargaining, though I feel like I should bargain for another new trailer, as opposed to the “new” trailer that was released online yesterday. It’s the same one that came out in December, but with three teeny, tiny differences:

0:23 — Bilbo’s reaction to Gandalf’s arrival
1:57 — Bilbo hides behind a tree in Mirkwood
1:59 — Gandalf, the dwarves, and Bilbo run through a forest (Via)

And yet Tolkien fans still had to change their pants three times. See it below.
