The latest attempt to use a beloved nerd property to try and unseat “World of Warcraft” from its mighty perch is “Star Wars: The Old Republic”. It’s also BioWare’s return to Star Wars.
For us, it’s going to be a question of whether or not the plot and gameplay are compelling enough to rival WoW’s incredibly deep content, and also how long and monotonous the grinding turns out to be. But in the meantime, the trailers are fun to watch!
That’s the thing with BioWare: they love the hell out of Star Wars, just like us and, perhaps, moreso than Lucasarts if “The Force Unleashed” is any indication, and it shows even in their marketing materials. You’ve got to love the pop culture gags they cram into the trailer: see how many you notice under the jump.
