In news that’s possibly pretty crappy, Kenneth Branaugh, the director who arguably made “Thor” as good as it was, isn’t coming back to the director’s chair for the sequel.
Why? Who the hell knows? The press release said the parting was “mutual and amicable”, which could mean anything from too much money to scheduling conflicts since they want the next one by 2013.
Mostly though, it means the hunt for a new director is on. So far, Marvel’s shown…interesting taste in directors, such as getting Jon Favreau to direct “Iron Man”. We’re assuming the next Thor will be directed by a similarly interesting choice.
