‘Thunderbirds’ Is Coming Back! Your Dad’s Going To Be So Excited!

Mmmm, look at those fine strong brows.

Hey, who remembers Thunderbirds? You know, the 60s British sci-fi show starring bushy-browed marionettes? Think Team America: World Police, except without the swearing, puppet-sex and irony. They used to show it on Canadian TV well into the 90s for some reason.

Well, I must not be the only person who remembers the show, because Thunderbirds is coming back. Thunderbirds Are Go! is being produced by the UK’s ITV Studios and Peter Jackson’s Weta Workshop. The new show will be a (somewhat odd sounding) combination of CGI and physical sets and models. So, probably no more visible strings or characters hop-floating around instead walking I’m guessing. Darn.

A total of 26 half-hour episodes will be made, but cool your jets Thunderbirds enthusiasts, the new show won’t hit airwaves until 2015.
