Triceratops Really Did Exist?

You may have heard reports that scientists at the Museum of the Rockies decided to punch your childhood in the face by declaring the Triceratops wasn’t a distinct species, but just what a Torosaurus looked like as a teenager. John Scannella and Jack Horner (wait, that’s really his name? Wow. Somebody had spiteful parents.) presented evidence that the skulls changed over time.

Luckily, we’ve got…Andrew Farke? His last name is Farke? I feel a distinct pulling sensation on my leg.

Anyway, Farke has fought back for the eight-year-old inside us all, and demonstrated that it’s extremely unlikely Torosaurus and Triceratops are the same species. There are enough differences between the skulls that it just being puberty seems unlikely.

Now if Farke can release the original cuts of Star Wars on DVD and punch George Lucas in the face, he’ll have singlehandedly saved 90% of our childhoods.
