Here’s what we know: Justin Bieber is apparently appearing on Ellen’s birthday show today. It’s not even listed on the website because I guess he’s supposed to be one of the “surprises” they’re referring to. (Sorry, Ellen! Surprise ruined.) Anyway, according to TMZ’s “sources,” Justin reportedly tanked the appearance, appearing nervous and giving one word answers.
Whatever the hell happened (and we’ll be tuning in later to find out), it provoked Justin Bieber to put aside his usual indignantly sh*tty attitude and record the above apology posted on Twitter last night, in which he claims to have been nervous, and afraid of what people are thinking of him. He goes on to say that he “didn’t want to come off arrogant or conceited — how he’s been acting the past year, year and a half,” and that he’s not who he was pretending to be. Then he gets SUPER EMOTIONAL and claims that “we pretend to be something we’re not as a cover up as what we’re truly feeling inside.”
The thing is, he actually appears … sincere? I honestly don’t understand what is happening right now. Theory: Did Ellen break Justin Bieber? Is our favorite charismatic TV lesbian secretly a hardass who slapped some sense into the kid? I can almost picture Ellen in my head screaming “LISTEN UP YOU LITTLE SH*T” at Justin Bieber and then smacking him across the face. Whatever the case, he’s definitely scared:
