First, rumors of Wonder Woman and now this: Nightwing will be in Batman/Superman. Or at least, so goes the rumor. But is it actually true?
One thing we know for sure: Something is up with D… er, DC definitely wants to do something with Di…We will probably be seeing Nightwing in some form. The team over at Arrow has been essentially bugging DC to do it for a while, and they did have something interesting to say back in July:
“We’ve heard the fans and we’re very well aware that they would like to see Nightwing and various other Bat-characters on the show,” said the two. “[But] that is a little bit out of our control, [and] I think [the ‘Batman Vs. Superman’] announcement made it a lot more out of our control!”
Of note, they were allowed, last season, to send Ollie to Bludhaven, and you can reach Bludhaven by train according to the show. And it’s a natural fit for DC’s overall strategy in several ways. First of all, Batman/Superman will see an older, crankier Bats, and as Grayson gets older, he and Bats don’t really get along.
Secondly, Nightwing is possibly second only to Batman in terms of fan base, and he seems to have a strong female fan base. Considering that these movies are designed to reach as many people as possible, adding Nightwing to the mix makes a lot of sense, especially since Man Of Steel skewed both older and more towards the male side of things.
So, while this rumor can’t be confirmed, it does seem rather likely. Which is good, because being able to fill a post with jokes about Dick is going to make this movie a lot easier to cover. Do you think he’ll have to start over in a new city after the end of this movie?
