General Mills Will Release All Five Of The Monster Cereals For Halloween This Year

General Mills has earned itself some major cool points with nostalgia buffs, as the food giant is releasing, for the first time in the history of the company and the world, all five of its Monster Cereals for the 2013 Halloween season. Soon enough, people who long for the sweet flavors of Count Chocula, Frankenberry, Boo Berry, Fruit Brute and Fruity Yummy Mummy will be able to walk into a store and purchase any and all of these forgotten and mostly-discontinued favorites.

Count Chocula, Frankenberry and Boo Berry have been available during Halloween for several years now, but Fruit Brute (now Frute Brute) hasn’t been seen or tasted since 1988 and Fruity Yummy Mummy hasn’t been poured into a bowl since 1993. To make up for their absences, General Mills is even giving them a horror movie poster packaging makeover, according to i-Mockery.

Additionally, all of the boxes will be available at Target stores in their retro packaging for the cereal geeks who want to relive their sugary adolescence with accuracy.

I, for one, can’t wait to pick up several boxes of Boo Berry so I can slurp that delicious blueberry milk out of my bowl like a child again, because that’s something that I totally don’t do anymore.

In the meantime, here’s a 28-minute video of many of the Monster Cereals commercials from the 70s, 80s and 90s for you to watch and say, “Hey, I remember that!”
