For those of us who worship at the altar of Amazon Prime, the struggle of package theft can be real. Full disclosure: I am even working in my dining room today within view of the front door as I’m expecting a few deliveries, because even with security cameras and in broad daylight, package thieves are just that brazen these days.
Take the gentleman in the above video, who was allegedly casing a neighborhood with his lady friend, when he spied a package on a homeowner’s doorstep and decided to jump out and make a grab. Sucks for him, though, because the homeowner in question saw what was happening and quickly reacted. The victim spoke with Claycord.com about what went down next.
My daughter said someone is running up to the house, I ran out and realized he was stealing something and chased him to the car. I reached in to the window and tried to stop them, he didn’t care that I had her arm and when he started to drive off, I saw her purse and grabbed it with hopes there was ID and turned it in to the police.
Unfortunately, it does not appear that they were able to ID the couple by the purse, because police are still seeking to identify the man. Moral of the story, have your lady friend be the getaway driver next time? Oh right, or just don’t be giant buttholes and steal people’s stuff.
