778-pound Steven Assanti had been admitted into Rhode Island Hospital to get help for his morbid obesity. Assanti claims to have an eating addiction and needed outside help to control his habits and keep him in line. This seemed to be going well until he was informed that he would have to leave the hospital for breaking the rules of his diet program. According to The Washington Post, Assanti thought there would be no problem ordering a pizza for his “cheat” meal:

Assanti, 30, told WJAR that, before he was evicted from Rhode Island Hospital, he was aiming to get his weight down to 550 pounds so he could have gastric bypass surgery.

He said the decision to order pizza was a way of rewarding himself for his recent weight loss, while admitting that his “cheat meal” was also a violation of the strict eating plan he was supposed to be following, according to the Associated Press.

“I don’t feel like I broke the rules,” he said in the online post. “I was on a care plan and you could’ve implemented on that care plan that I had an addiction to ordering out food. You guys knew that from the get-go the moment I got admitted there.”

Assanti has been keeping those interested up to date via his Facebook page, providing some details into his treatment, Rhode Island Hospital, and media coverage into his situation. He also posted a video addressing his haters due to his former account as FatBoyGetDown:

Since the story first broke, Assanti has been seeking help outside of Rhode Island and updated his page with a video showing that he had indeed found another facility in Ohio. According to the video, they specialize in bariatric care and he hopes to get the weight off.
