This Baseball Team Found An Abandoned Puppy In The Stadium Parking Lot, So They Adopted It

Now here’s a heartwarming story to kick the weekend off with. Minor league baseball team the Savannah Bananas, a member of the Coastal Plain League which operates with sixteen teams across the southeast, recently found a seven-week-old puppy in the team’s Grayson Stadium parking lot. The puppy was found crying near the office door by a staff member, and aside from being hungry, was otherwise a healthy little pup.

Now named “Daisy,” the puppy has been taken in by Team President Jared Orton and his wife Kelsey, where she will serve as the official “Bat Dog” for the Savannah Bananas, as well as coming into the office every day to help out and greet visitors.

“It was just meant to be that we’d have a team dog as part of our staff,” said Orton. “We took Daisy to the vet and aside from being hungry and dehydrated, she was in pretty good health.”

“We aren’t sure how big she’ll get, so it’s hard to say if she’ll be able to pick up a bat or just coach first base,” said Orton, “but as she grows, she’ll be a fixture at the ballpark.”

Uhhh, is it just me or is anyone else smelling a sequel, here? There is just no way this isn’t somehow meant to be!
