Blake Lively’s Joke About Having An ‘Oakland Booty’ Has Blown Up In Her L.A. Face

Blake Lively, the Karen Smith to Gwyneth Paltrow’s Regina George, was at the Cannes Film Festival to walk the red carpet for her new movie, Café Society. She was accompanied by Blake Lively’s booty, the real star of the festival. The Shallows star (it’s her The Revenant, but with sharks) caused an online kerfuffle when she described herself as having an “L.A. face with an Oakland booty.” In case you’re not up-to-date with 1992 rap songs, that’s a line from Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Baby Got Back,” referring to women from Los Angeles who have gorgeous faces but no behinds, and Oakland ladies with healthy butts.

Or in the immortal words of Urban Dictionary, “Refers to a girl with a pretty face and a marvelous shapely ass.” Never change, Urban Dictionary.

Anyway, Lively’s joke was not well received by others on Instagram and Twitter, who are accusing the Gossip Girl actress, who got married to Ryan Reynolds on an ex-slave plantation, of being a “rich white woman using [women of color’s] bodies as a punchline and commodity.”

Others aren’t as concerned:

I bet anyone hating on this caption got a flat ass (Via instagram)

Sir Mix-a-Lot has yet to respond.
