This Woman Loves Playing In The Drum And Bugle Corps More Than Anything You’ve Ever Loved In Your Life

I am alive. I am conscious. But I will never feel anything like this Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps pit keyboardist feels during her performance in this video. The clip is from the Corps’ latest tourQuixotic, a “reflection of the masterpiece The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha,”  and the video was captured by an astute audience member. According to the band’s website, “The program concludes with the iconic “The Impossible Dream,” the musical reflection of Don Quixote’s spirit and journey, an anthem for the quixotic dreamer in us all.” That’s what we’re seeing here.

Basically, it’s a real banger:

Look at her. She’s playing with the intensity of a thousand Arabian princesses. It’s like she’s fueled by the seismic forces rumbling underneath Quixote’s horse as the giants (windmills) march over the bluffs. This girl is losing herself in the music, the moment. She owns it. She better never let it go.

I hope I can one day experience this passion, this love, this energy, but I can’t be sure if it will ever come. What just happened in that video was too pure, but I feel honored to have at least felt her raw intensity trickle down to me like an adrenaline drip to the soul. Thank you, Drum and Bugle keyboardist. Thank you.

“The adrenaline of a live performance is unlike anything in film or theater. I can see why it’s so addictive.” – Gwyneth Paltrow.
