Nooooooooooo. TMZ is reporting that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are done and that Jolie has filed for divorce, citing September 15th as the date of separation. The couple famously met on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2004, but did not make it official until August of 2014. Jolie is reportedly asking for physical custody of the couple’s six children: Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt, 15, Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, 12, Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt, 11, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, 10, and twins Knox Léon Jolie-Pitt and Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt, 8.

Sources connected with the couple tell us … Angelina’s decision to file has to do with the way Brad was parenting the children … she was extremely upset with his methods.

We’re told there was no alleged “third person” … her decision to file was solely over Brad’s interaction with their children.

Suffice to say, the Jolie-Pitt union has always held a strong, united front and most of us assumed that they were soul mates, destined to spend their entire lives together, and probably end up being one of those couples who literally die together holding hands at ninety-some years old. As a result, people are completely unequipped on how to deal with the sad news. And more importantly, how do we live in a post Angelina Jolie-Brad Pitt world? Is love even real?

Many have taken to Twitter to mourn the conscious uncoupling (a term coined by another one of Pitt’s exes), speculate just what went wrong, or in some cases, make jokes. (THIS IS NOT A TIME FOR JOKES.)

Seriously though, Jennifer Aniston might want to get out of town for a bit.
