We all know that texting and driving is a dumb thing to do: Distracted driving killed more than 3,000 people in 2013 alone. But what about people who drive for a living? Surely they can safely text and drive!
To find out, eight pros, ranging from rallycross drivers to professional stuntwomen, got behind the wheel of go-karts with smartphones bolted to them. All they had to do was text each other while taking a lap in the karts at full speed. If they got in an accident while sending a text, they were disqualified from the race. Simple, right? Well… as you’ll see in the video above, it’s trickier than you think.
